Although, “how much will it cost to clean my carpet” is a very simple question to ask, the answer is often not quite as simple.
Unfortunately, the carpet cleaning industry has developed a very poor reputation as it relates to pricing practices and poor service delivery. It seems very easy to get a price upfront when doing a Google search and ads will pop-up with low prices all over the place. However, this very low price is typically designed as the bait for a less then reputable outfit to get their foot in your door. From that point on it typically develops into a very uncomfortable situation where they’ll try anything to get more money for the job they originally had quoted you a low price over the phone or online on.
Known as “bait and switch” this practice has been around forever, and it continues to hurt the reputation of honest carpet cleaners and catches unsuspecting consumers in the cross hairs of unscrupulous operators.
Be very suspicious of service companies that choose to compete on low-price alone. There is an inherent cost of doing business for any company that delivers service to your home. There is real cost associated with running a reputable business. From having proper insurance in place, training your staff to be able to do the work properly, to having the right equipment and tools.
A company the competes on being the low-price leader will be cutting cost everywhere. From having inadequate or no insurance equipment that is of low quality and poorly maintained. The cleaning products will be of inferior quality and the employees will be poorly trained and not motivated to provide you with a top-notch job. Ultimately it means that the quality of the job will be far inferior to that of a company that recognizes the facts of business and doesn’t try to cut corners and cheat their clients. A reputable business cares about the long-term relationship it builds with its clients and will do everything to maintain a quality reputation in the marketplace.
Folks who call Zerorez about having their carpets and area rugs cleaned are often worried about how much it will cost, and they want reassurance that the price they hear on the phone is the price they will pay when we come to clean their home. We can surely sympathize, because no-one wants to be surprised when it comes time to pay the bill, no matter what the product or service is that they are seeking. At Zerorez we are very upfront with quotes we provide over the phone (or online), so it seemed strange to us that there was so much confusion regarding what people were hearing when they called other service providers.
We feel that our customers deserve a straightforward answer and an honest quote. First, we quote over the phone or online, so you don’t have the discomfort of someone standing in your living room pressuring you to decide and get going.
We generally offer a three-room carpet cleaning special, and the rooms can each be up to 150 square feet, which accommodates most rooms (a large 12’ by 12’ room is still only 144 feet). Because there is some seasonality to the carpet cleaning business, we’ll offer a slightly lower price of $169 in the slow months and a regular price range of $199 to $229 in season for this 3-room cleaning package. Additional rooms are priced at $50 each. If a room is significantly larger than the 150 square feet in size, such as a large master bedroom or bonus room the price goes to $75. Hallways are priced at $40 each and a set of stairs is priced at $70. That is as complicated as it gets. One additional item we charge on every appointment is a $19 water treatment and disposal fee. This fee is designed to cover the cost of producing and transporting our alkaline cleaning water to your home and to also properly dispose of the wastewater we recover from cleaning your home.
Please note that there could be special circumstances that need to be addressed, and your call center expert can help with that. For example, pet urine stains or other residues in your carpet that need to be treated are outside the scope of a regular carpet cleaning. Our call center can only estimate the cost because the technician will have to determine what needs to be done and how extensive the treatment must be to correct the situation. However, you are in control because our technician will review all options with you along with the price for each.
If you schedule carpet cleaning and you see that our soap free process really is better and your technician is doing a wonderful job, you may decide to have us clean additional rooms, an area rug or a couch and love seat, or even a tile floor. That, of course, will cost more, because you have changed the size or scope of the job, however we simply are anxious to make you happy that you have chosen the best carpet cleaner and the best cleaning process available.
We hope this helps when you are looking for a carpet cleaner that is honest and straightforward in cleaning your carpets, upholstery, area rugs, hardwood and tile or stone floors. And remember, you can always check our website for the monthly special, or call and talk to one of our friendly call center representatives.
We look forward to serving you, with the most amazing, soap-free cleaning process ever. And remember, Zerorez truly is the right way to clean!
