What is Powered Water™?

A: Powered Water™ is water that has been softened and electrolyzed with our patented EO Water System (U.S. Patent 6,638,364). Powered Water™ cleans like soap without any chemical additives. The benefit of using this process is that no soap residue is left behind from our cleaning to continue collecting soil after the cleaning. What services do you provide?

A: We clean carpets like no one else… without using sticky soaps or detergents that cause rapid re-soiling. True Zero residue cleaning. We clean areas rugs both on-site and at our base if they require more extensive deep cleaning or a rug “bath.” We clean tile and grout and all kinds of natural stone, and in many cases, such as travertine, we can clean and restore a beautiful shine to stone flooring that has lost its sheen. We clean and buff hardwood, and we can strip wax and other products from hardwood that has become dull and lifeless and restore to its original finish. We clean and seal showers, and we do a wonderful job in cleaning and renewing granite counter tops. We provide many other services, but we do not clean air ducts or drapes. However, we can recommend some excellent companies that do that type of work.

Do you move furniture?

A: We typically use one man crews which makes moving furniture difficult and dangerous. We ask that you have all items you want moved out of the room before we arrive. Your technician will do a great job cleaning all exposed carpet and around any items left in the room. If you must have furniture moved, we can send a second technician to assist at an additional charge.

Is the carpet wet after the cleaning?

A: Yes, our hot water extraction cleaning process does leave some moisture in the carpet. Typical dry time is between 5 and 8 hours, depending on the airflow in the home, condition and style of carpet being cleaned, and even the weather. It is completely safe to walk on the carpet if it is still damp as long as your shoes are clean. Better yet, use the complimentary pair of shoe coverings the technician will leave for you to use after the clean.

What is considered a “room” size?

A: We consider any area to be one room such as a bedroom, living room or den. If you have any large areas that exceed 150 sq. ft. (12’ x 12’) that area will be counted as either an oversize area or as 2 or more areas.

Do you have a guarantee? What does it cover?

A: Yes! We call it our “You Gotta Love-It Guarantee“. If you are at any time unsatisfied with any aspect of your cleaning or service PLEASE contact us and we will work diligently to make things right.

Do you need to use my water?

A: No, for residential cleanings we bring our special empowered water on our truck, and we take the effluent water back to our shop to be treated.

What are your parking requirements?

A: We prefer to park in the street in front of your location, please be sure to check your street cleaning schedule so we don’t obstruct the street cleaners. We carry about 300 feet of hose on our trucks, so we can probably reach your facility, but we would like to park as close as possible.

I live on the 3rd floor, can you reach my apartment?

A: Yes, we can generally reach your location if there is stairwell or outside stair access. We charge a $25 fee per floor for 2nd and 3rd floor access. If we clean a 4th floor or above location, we will need to use a portable machine which also requires an additional charge.

Can I include other items in the three room special, such as a couch or stairs?

A: The ZEROREZ® three room special is only for areas of carpet that are attached to the floor. However, you can book as many of our services into one appointment as you like. We are happy to demonstrate our other cleaning services such as tile, upholstery, and area rugs and provide a quote while on-site, just ask your service technician! We can usually do the additional work during your appointment.

Is a protector applied to the carpet?

A: Your service technician will assess the condition of the carpet on-site and will let you know if it is a good idea to reapply fiber protection to your carpet. The average cost is $25.00 – $35.00 per area. Anti-microbial protectant is also available at a slightly higher price.

Can I decline pet stain treatment if it is recommended by a technician?

A: Yes. Do keep in mind in order to achieve an effective treatment for biological issues such as urine, odor and staining; it does require additional cleaning steps and product. Any service recommended by a technician is optional but certainly recommended. If you decline a pet treatment it does void our thirty day satisfaction guarantee for that area of your home.

What about area rugs? Can you clean them in the home or do you take them off-site?

A: We can clean some area rugs in your home as long as there are no biological issues in the rug (such as urine, blood, feces or vomit) and there is an appropriate surface to clean on. We use a low moisture system and can clean rugs that are on hardwood without damaging the wood finish.

For optimal cleaning results, ZEROREZ® recommends cleaning area rugs in our shop especially for fine oriental rugs and delicate fibers for a safe and effective cleaning. We can pick up/drop off rugs, or you can drop them off at our base for an additional discounted rate. Please call our office for further information.

What are the black lines around the baseboards and under doorways?

A: This is especially noticed on light colored carpet. This soiling is called filtration soiling because it comes from air passing through the carpet as it is attempting to get through the space between the carpet and the baseboard or closed door. This occurs over a significant period of time and is not noticed until a build-up has occurred.

This type of soiling is difficult to remove because the soil particles are so fine that they penetrate deep into the carpet pile and often into the backing of the carpet. To help prevent filtration soiling, vacuum and wipe the edges of the carpet on a regular basis. Special effort and time are required to eradicate filtration soiling, which may necessitate an additional charge if the problem warrants it.

Do you offer any in-home cleaning products I can buy?

A: Yes. We have our ZEROREZ® Spotter Kit which includes our no-soap Z-Free® super concentrated cleaning product together with a mixing/spray bottle. This is a great product for taking care of those occasional spots that appear between visits from ZEROREZ®. We also offer an active enzyme odor eliminator, as well as a combo kit that includes both the spotter product and the odor eliminator, perfect for all pet owners. We also offer electrostatic air filters. These are metal framed and custom made to fit your return and provide superior (up to 98% efficient) filtration of small micro sized particles. Asthma and allergy sufferers will really see a difference. They are guaranteed for life, so you will never need to buy a filter again. Filters start at $99. Unusual sizes may cost a bit more.

What areas do you service?

A: We cover Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside Counties, as well as parts of Ventura and San Bernardino counties. Please call to confirm your service area.

What days are you open?

A: ZEROREZ® provides service to our customers 6 days a week Monday through Saturday. And for our Commercial customers, we provide both day and night time appointments for added convenience.

What should I do before ZEROREZ® arrives for my appointment?

A: It is important that your carpet is vacuumed thoroughly prior to your appointment. We kindly ask that you remove items such as lamps, picture frames and other fragile items from tabletops and clear floors of toys, books and other small items. Please also ensure there is an entrance to the home or building that is unobstructed.

Do I have to be home for the cleaning?

A: While we prefer that you are home during your appointment, it is not required. We do appreciate having someone present to confirm the areas that will be cleaned, discuss options and address any concerns we may encounter during the service. Please know all of our service technicians are full-time employees and are insured and bonded. We do collect payment onsite after the cleaning so if you are not going to be home, please be sure the customer service representative is notified at the time of scheduling so we can arrange payment.

How often should I get my carpet cleaned?

A: Most carpet manufactures recommend your carpet to be professionally cleaned every 12-18 months with a hot water extraction process. This will vary, however, depending on the usage your carpet gets. Factors include the number of people, pets, outdoor environment and how well carpet is maintained between cleanings. We also advise you check the warranty information on your carpet. Many carpet manufactures require you have your carpets professionally cleaned every 12-18 months in order to keep the warranty valid on your carpet.

Do you sell gift certificates?

A: Not at this time. We will gladly make arrangements with our clients if they wish to pay for service for a friend or family member. Please talk to one of our representatives if you wish to make arrangements on behalf of someone else.
