ZEROREZ® Technicians
August 20, 2008
Zerorez technicians are the best in the business. New technicians work under the careful guidance and instruction of a senior technician for two months or more before they are certified to work independently.
Zerorez technicians must also pass a 20 page comprehensive exam that covers carpet and upholstery styles and types, fibers and fabrics, chemicals, stone and tile, equipment usage and maintenance, and a host of other topics. Most technicians have been with Zerorez for two or more years, and only the best are allowed to stay.
Zerorez technicians are expected to arrive at your house or facility on time, dressed cleanly and neatly, and are able to communicate clearly and completely about what they will be doing, and to discuss with you any concerns you might have about the process. They can also make recommendations or suggestions about a host of cleaning issues at your request.
Zerorez technicians will place corner guards at critical points to protect your paint and wood base boards. They will place plastic shields or foam blocks underneath furniture feet that could bleed or rust. They will wipe up overspray from hard surfaces to help you avoid slipping. They will be courteous, honest, and straightforward about charges. Zerorez technicians will only perform work that you request, and there will never be “surprise” charges on your bill. Zerorez carpet cleaning pricing is based on a complete service package, which includes pretreatment and spotting, cleaning, and application of protectant. (Some spotting such as pet urine or red wine may require additional time and treatment, please discuss with your Zerorez representative when scheduling your appointment).
The Zerorez Truck
The Zerorez truck is a specially designed vehicle to ensure maximum power and ability to clean the way you expect.
Each morning Zerorez technicians fill their trucks with 500 gallons of Zerorez alkaline cleaning solution, which will last throughout the day. All working supplies are on board the vehicle, you do not need to supply a connection to your tap or from your garden hose.
The Zerorez truck has an on board heater which can heat water to 350 degrees F, although for residential purposes, the optimal temperature is about 210 degrees. This sanitizes your surfaces in a way that simple, warmed water cannot do.
The Zerorez truck employs the 350 hp truck engine to power both the cleaning solution application and the vacuum extraction process. Water pressure can go as high as 3,000 psi, however, most tile and grout or stone cleaning is done at a maximum of 1200 psi, and the optimal pressure for carpet is fairly low to ensure fibers and fabrics are thoroughly cleaned without crushing or bending. Commercial carpet, however, is designed for a higher pressure and may require a higher psi to remove heavy grease or oil soiling.
Each Zerorez truck is equipped with an effluent tank. The dirt, moisture, contaminants, and soap and detergent from previous (non-Zerorez) cleanings is extracted by the powerful truck vacuum and deposited in the effluent tank. The Zerorez vacuum has about 12 – 15 times the lift of a typical truck mounted carpet cleaning motor, so your carpets dry more quickly and thoroughly.
Zerorez technicians return to the base each night to empty and filter the effluent tank before finishing for the day. The Zerorez truck is an expensive investment, but one that the company feels is necessary for the best, most effective, and most environmentally sound approach to cleaning in the business. Zerorez is truly the right way to clean.
